Hot Topic Discussion | The Humanity of Our Approach to the Prevention and Treatment of Child Maltreatment Matters
Presenter: Pat J. Bruno, MD | Sunday, April 12 | 9:00 AM | St. Paul's UCC | Open to all
Behind the statistics of child abuse are real children and families in pain. Using lived stories and scientific research, Dr. Bruno will explore the causes, consequences, and complexities of child maltreatment — including where our systems fall short — and what a more compassionate, holistic, whole-family response looks like.
This is ultimately a message of hope — an invitation for communities, caregivers, and people of faith to help protect vulnerable children and strengthen families together.
The After Party: Navigating Faith & Politics Together
Facilitator: Shane Sanders | Sunday, April 19 to May 24 | 9:00 AM | St. Paul's UCC | Open to all
What does it look like to engage today's polarized political world as a follower of Jesus? Beginning April 19 and running through May 24, St. Paul's will explore that question together through The After Party — a free, six-part video course designed to help churches and individuals develop a biblically grounded approach to political life.
Led by Shane Sanders, this six-week study will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM. A Zoom link will be available for those joining remotely.
The After Party was created by Curtis Chang and features voices from across the Christian spectrum, including New York Times columnist David French and Christianity Today Editor-in-Chief Russell Moore. Rather than focusing on parties or candidates, the course asks a deeper question: How do we relate to others — even those we deeply disagree with — in a way that looks more like Jesus?
All are welcome — no sign-up and no preparation required. Just show up Sunday morning at 9:00 AM, in person or via Zoom.

Meet & Eat Sunday, April 26 | 11:45 AM | Fellowship Hall
Stay after worship and share a meal with us! Meet & Eat is a relaxed, come-as-you-are lunch where good food and good company are always on the menu.
In honor of Earth Day, this month's menu celebrates sustainability and eating local — with vegetarian, vegan, and meat options for everyone at the table. But mostly we're thinking about sitting down together, sharing a meal, and enjoying the people around us.
The Meet & Eat team provides the main course. Please sign up to let us know you're coming!
Free and open to all — members, friends, and first-time guests welcome!
